An instance is the highest organizational unit in the Mediebank. An instance consists of one or more organizations.

Some common examples of instances with several organizations may be:

  • A media group with a variety of publications.

  • A holding company with its subsidiaries

  • An organization with various departments

Intra-organizational sharing

Organizations within an instance may be allowed to share assets directly between one another, if they have activated one or both of the following instance-features:

  • Shared collections: If this feature is activated, admins may share collections with other organizations within the same instance. When more than one organization is given access to a collection, all users in those organizations can access the assets within it. All organizations with access to a collection may add assets to it.

  • Cross-organizational search: When this feature is activated, users may choose whether they want to search for assets in all organizations, or only their own.

Intra-organizational sharing features is disabled by default. To enable these features, contact your technical account manager.

Domain and access

Each instance have its own unique domain and separate login system. Usually, this is connected the customers own Identity and Access Management system (see SSO authentication) , but there are some notable exceptions:

  • NTB: The NTB-instance is accessed by a username and password to an NTB-account.

  • TT: The TT-instance is accessed by a username and password to a TT-account.

  • STT: The STT-instance is accessed by a username and password to an STT-account.
